Tony Nik’s Cafe is easily one of my favorite bars in SF’s North Beach. Opened in 1933 and remodeled to it’s still current look in 1949, it’s a cozy stylish joint with solid cocktails and guaranteed friendly bartenders. Cheers! I went to a tasting of Isle of Harris whiskies last year, a row of their standards. They were fine. But this single cask is a notch above. Robust vanilla paired with a range of stone fruits and easygoing maritime notes. Good stuff. Sláinte! This Clynelish 14 Year from 2016 has that wonderful viscous waxiness from just before whatever they tweaked to make it just a bit thinner. Yum. Sláinte!

Now also on THREADS and BLUESKY 🧵🦋🥃
