To accompany my classic reading, a classic dry martini in the author’s preferred manner—12 to 1 ratio of gin to dry vermouth, ice cold, with lemon zest. Simple. Effective. Cheers! Doh! I thought I’d made my last bottle buys before my self-imposed June-to-June Year of Only 12 Bottle Buys kicks in, but then I found this. It had been lingering in the basement of a corner store near me since 2002 and they finally put it out. I’d assumed my city had long been picked clean of these old WT101s but yuh never know what might turn up. Cheers! These High West Rendezvous Ryes from back when they were blending 6-year MGP and 16-year Barton have a special luxuriousness to them. If you see one from 2017 or before gathering dust on some shelf and the price is still right, nab it. Cheers!

Now also on THREADS and BLUESKY 🧵🦋🥃
